Hyderabad CEC at what Cost?

Dear friends,
Here is the letter from ASTO Presdient, Dehradun regarding CEC meeting at Hyderabad:

=================================================================
ASTO/DDN/CWC (24)/2005-07 Date: 17.01.2008

To
The President
ASTO, CWC,
ONGC,
New Delhi – 110001.

Sub: - ASTO CEC meeting at Hyderabad.

Shri Goel,

It is in reference to the letter of Manager (HR)-IR, Corporate Industrial Relations, Dehradun, dated 10.01.2008 in regards to holding of ASTO CEC meeting on 21/22.01.2008 at Hyderabad.
Kindly refer our letter dated 09.01.2008 in which we have very correctly mentioned that the tenure of present ASTO was expired on 01/12/2007 and the election of new body are now due and thus any further extension is not justified in the interest and welfare of officers’ community. In the CEC meeting at Jodhpur on 29.11.2007, a resolution was passed by all the CEC members for completing the process of ASTO election for the term 2008-2009 before February’ 2008 (after February there will be examination period of majority of the wards of the executives and after that there is a transfer season) so that new body of ASTO takes the very important issue like pay revision etc. with renewed vigor.

In context of above we further wants to submit that:

1. ASTO CEC on 29.11.2007 had unanimously conveyed their decision to go the elections and completing the process of ASTO election for the term 2008-2009 before February’ 2008.

2. Further no agenda for the CEC meeting has been communicated along with the call for CEC. Any meeting without any predefined and declared agenda has no meaning and against the interest of officer’s community. Though surprisingly no minutes about the outcome of previous meeting has been circulated till date.

3. Once again , some ELECTED Members (Non-CEC) of Assets and Basins due to constitutional restriction, have not been invited for CEC Meeting where as the names of numbers of NON-ELECTED officers appeared in the list approved by Management, ignoring the constitution.

The above mentioned unwarranted situation and a meeting without any agenda have compelled us not to attend the ASTO CEC meeting of 21/22.01.2008 at Hyderabad.
Regards.

(B.M.L.Aswal)
President,ASTO
